Born and raised in Germany, Matthias grew up with 80s pop, subculture, Its imagery and fell in love with photography. as a 10 year old he took his first point and shoot camera to the streets and asked people with their dogs to take their photographs.
In the mid 90s He moved from Berlin to California and studied photography at the San Francisco Art Institute (SFAI) in the early 2000s.
